Tarot spreadsChoose by the question, not only by card count

Seven themes · 24 spreads

Each spread opens a different angle on the same question: what is central, what blocks, what is hidden, and where the pattern may be heading. Choose the kind of question first — then choose how deeply you want to look.

Write a few words about your question and we’ll suggest a suitable spread.

Why are there different tarot spreads?

A tarot spread is more than a group of cards. It is a way of dividing a question into points of view. Each card receives a role, so the structure of the spread determines which parts of the question we are able to see.

Not every question needs the same number of cards. Sometimes one card is enough for a clear message. At other times the situation contains several people, fears, thoughts, choices, or forces developing at once and needs more room.

More cards are not automatically better. They simply allow a wider picture and give more of the situation a place within the reading.

The number of cards determines how wide the picture can become. The structure determines which angles we examine. The relationships between the cards turn separate images into one story.

How many cards, and why?

Choose a spread by the kind of question, not only by the number of cards. Card count sets the width of the picture; spread structure decides what we ask inside it; the relationships between cards reveal the story forming between them.

One card & getting started

When you need a message or a simple point of focus

Situation, forces & direction

What supports you, what resists, and where things are tending

Choices & dilemmas

When you are weighing options or feeling stuck between paths

When comparing two or more options, it helps to give each option enough space rather than reduce an entire path to one card. A useful rule is at least three cards per option — for example: advantage · challenge · potential. Two options then receive six cards, sometimes with a seventh card for advice or an important factor to keep in mind.

Relationships & people

Romance, partnership, or a specific person

When exploring a relationship between two people, each side deserves a full position of its own. Often we use at least three cards per person — for example feeling · need · block — and only then add cards for the dynamic between them and the relationship's potential.

Time & development

How a situation moves backward and forward through time

Inner reflection & balance

A map of the inner world rather than a prediction of events

The full picture

For complex situations with several forces acting at once
